Sean O'Mara

Player Summary 

Sean is a very composed and tactically astute central midfielder. Comfortbale on the ball, a very tidy footballer that very rarely gives the ball away and has the ability of always being in the right place to break up opposition attacks. At 188cm, Sean is also a very dominant presence.

Sean is also very positionally disciplined, and whilst he has the ability to contribute going forwards he is very happy to sit as a holding midfielder allowing team mates the freedom to get forward. 

Sean has represented a number of highly coveted teams and academies. Growing up and coming through Oldham Athletic and Manchester City’s academies, before moving on to Curzon Ashton’s under 18’s team. Whilst at Curzon he won the North West Youth Alliance League in his first year, and in his second year he is currently sitting top of the league winning 11, and drawing 1 in 12 games. He has also made appearances for the first team in friendly matches. The first team play in the National League North, the 6^th divison of English Football. His under 18’s side also reached the 3^rd round of the FA Youth Cup, beating beating football league sides Oldham and Blackpool, before losing to Burnley. 

Sean is also currently playing men’s football, recently signing with semi pro side Nelson FC in the North West Counties Football League. He trains Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday with Rochdale AFC Elite Development Squad, playing on Wednesdays. He also trains additionally on Tuesday and Thursday evenings with Nelson FC, with games on Saturday. His games for Curzon under 18’s are then on Sundays, so it’s fair to say Sean is committed to his soccer.
